Add mp3 to garageband. I could have sworn I used to be able to do that, but I may be dreaming!. Tap on the audio file you want to import. Hi Katie, Thank you for your help, which is greatly appreciated 馃檪It does seem strange that the GB files aren’t compatible between mobile and desktop versions.Apple does seem to trip up more frequently now!I’ve just come across the following workaround to move GB files from MacOSX to iOS by adding an additional (dummy) loop to the midi file before archiving:The alternative way using the Fixed1t utility that’s mentioned in the above YouTube video is detailed at:I’ll try the above at home this evening. Hi Nick – so it’s easy in the desktop (Mac) version of GarageBand: you can simply drag a midi file from the Finder on to an open Garageband project (either on to a software instrument track or into the empty space below any existing tracks). Once you’ve done that, you can reassign instrument sounds etc as needed. But – it’s not possible on the iOs version 馃檨 I thought that I might be able to do a workaround – import a midi file into the desktop version, save it as a GB file and then send it to the iOS version via iCloud Drive but the iOS version won’t open GB files created on the desktop app.
| I would like to purchase Vocaloid 4 -- a Yamaha Product that creates a 'virtual singer' on your computer. Unfortunately, it does not have a 'VST', per se -- you can only get it as either an add-on for Cubase or as a Standalone Application. I have been trying to figure out the best way to go. I really want to use Studio One as my final destination. I do have Ableton as well and could probably rig something up using Loopbe products to run Ableton as a slave application to Cubase which sends audio to Studio One, but that seems excessive and I still don't feel confident that the clocks will be synchronized. I am at the beginning stages of learning Studio One. Is it possible to synch the internal clock to an external source? I found a reference to a Loopbe product -- ipMidi -- which can connect two DAWs in theory, provided that the DAWs are designed to be synchronized between different computers or instruments on a network or, in this case, different DAWs on the same machine. Any help would be much appreciated. Basic question -- how to synchronize either Cubase or StandAlone Instrument with Studio One so that I can hear complete arrangement when building / tweaking vocal tracks on secondary source. Thanks again! |
